I must have been living under a rock. Wasn’t until I visited an Irish bar in Vancouver that I had ever heard of a Caesar. Huh? Thought the tender was whipping up some bloody marys, but the pepper on the rim threw me. I was intrigued even further when he added a shot of my favorite libation — Guinness — and, viola, an Irish Caesar was born. Yum. The basics (add the Guinness, if you dare):
1 1/2 oz vodka
fill with clamato juice
3 dashes Tabasco® sauce
3 dashes Worcestershire sauce
dash of pepper
Line the rim with pepper. Dash of pepper, Tabasco and Woosty first, then add ice, vodka and clamato. Guinness doesn’t replace vodka for the Irish, it’s in addition to.
Love it, Jon. Thanks so much for gettin’ your drink on. I’ve had a Caesar, but never with the Guinness. Can’t wait to try it!!!!
Perfect perfect…thanks Jon for joining the Get Yer Drink On bandwagon!
Dive Bar Diva’s post mentioning peppermint martinis made me want one. I found this recipe and had to try it. DELICIOUS. Plus, any drink with Junior Mints gets two thumbs up from me. (Why aren’t more cocktails made with movie candy? Hmmm.) Here ’tis:
The Junior Mint Martini
2 1/2 ounces vodka
1/2 ounce peppermint schnapps
1/2 ounce white Creme de Cacao
2 Junior mints
Mix liquor together and shake with ice until super-duper cold. Strain into a martini glass. Drop Junior Mints into the glass.
One of my faves is a Chocolate Espresso Martini. They’re pretty popular, but mine is with two secret ingredients, one of which is hard to find as it’s not made any more… Godiva Chocolate Liqueur… not the shit with the cream in it but the real deal. The second ingredient is melted hershey’s chocolate to rim your glass then chilled (or frozen). It’s a snack and a drink! Me and my friends like to drink them before hitting the bars for a little shot of energy for the night!
Chocolate Espresso Martini
Chilled martini glass with melted Hershey chocolate rim (again with the chilled)
1 3/4 ounces vanilla vodka
1 1/4 ounce Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
splash to taste cold espresso (espresso powder with water works out perfectly)
Pour over ice and shake your money maker till it’s frosty! Strain into prepared martini glass and prepare for heaven!
Homorita, thank you ever so for sharing this recipe with our followers and know that I expect these to be made for me and Miss Toxic when we come to visit!
Vodka Toxic requests the recipe for a Fucking Awesome. Now there are several ways to make this as I am constantly told by any bartender who doesn’t make them the way that I do but to that I say…no, it’s just the one way. So, here it is my dear.
Equal parts:
Southern Comfort
Captain Morgan
Amaretto
Crown Royal
Raspberry Schnapps
Peach Schnapps
Add orange juice a splash of cranberry. You can add pineapple if you like, however I have found that quite a few people don’t like pineapple so I usually leave it out.
Shake like your life depends on it and portion it into shots.
Some people just don’t care what a shot tastes like as long as it looks and sounds good. Here is one that fits in both categories!
Sex on an Alligator (served in a martini glass)
Mix Medori, Malibu and just a little pineapple to thicken it up – strain in martini glass
Slowly poor Chambord into glass so it sinks
Float Jag on top
You should see 3 layers (Maroon, Green and Black)
Not a sipper!
Might not taste the best but gets a lot of OOHs and AHHs and I have never had anyone complain about paying $8 for this one.
Have you ever had that lady in the bar that doesn’t know what she wants to drink? Really? I usually think about it when I am getting ready and for sure know by the time I get there… why are we wasting valuable time?
Anyway, when you are dealing with the “beer makes me full” and “diet pop makes me stay up all night” kind of customer (you bartenders can hear that annoying voice in your head already) give this to them to shut them up.
BULLFROG (originated in Maple Lake….we think) a twist to the Bulldog
Vanilla Vodka (you could substitute Vanilla Schnapps or Vanilla Bacardi if “vodka make me sick” lady is there)
Kahlua
Cream
Root Beer
Mine is more of a question… Does anyone know how to make an Ultimate Volcano drink from TGIFridays? OMG that drink is to die for!! Everytime I drink it, it’s like an orgasm in my mouth!
Not sure about how to make this one but Vodka Toxic and I want all of our subscribers happy, therefore we will scour the earth (or just suck it up and go to TGIF) and find the recipe for you so you do not have to be subjected to corporate bar horror for your mouth orgasms!
Get ready for a mouth eruption. Here’s the recipe for the Volcano…
